Senza Maeso
A distillery tasting room where retro psychedelia meets the American roadside diner.
The Senza Maeso tasting room reimagines what a distillery visit looks like, fusing retro psychedelia with the aesthetic of a mid-century American roadside diner.
The back bar translates the brand's eye motif into architecture.
01 The assignment
Give a spirits brand a room that expresses its identity as strongly as its bottle does, inside a simple metal building, and make it comfortable enough that people stay for a second drink.
02 The design response
A distinctive back bar carries the brand's eye motif in concentric arches of amber and gold. Bold geometries, jewel-toned upholstery, timber-lined ceilings and a low, warm lighting scheme blend visual extravagance with casual comfort.
03 How it operates
The bar runs the length of the room with lounge seating behind it, so tastings, casual drinks and small events can happen in the same space without reconfiguring it.
04 Materials and custom elements
Curved painted millwork, timber slat ceilings, green leather and mustard velvet upholstery, patterned rugs and custom pendant lighting.
